Books, the room was teeming with them making it seem like they grew from the walls, decorating them with their colorful spines. A girl, dwarfed by the tall shelves, meandered about the place. Her finger rested gently on the spines, brushing across them with a gentle touch as she passed by. This was an almost sacred room to her. Knowledge, wisdom, adventure, it was all here beneath your fingertips. But this girl was not here for any of these, she was here for inspiration. Brushing her bright blond hair back with her slender hand she paused for a moment in front of a shelf of books. "Action novels...romance...no...." Her feet carried her on. She was a beautiful figure among the shelves, even in her casual clothes she stood out among the sparse humans that drifted along. But it was the strange quality of beauty that made her so captivating, something exotic. As soon as you set eyes on her you could sense something different, but what? Little did the people about her even dream that they had an elf among them. A tall and graceful people who are known for their beauty and perfection, Miriel fit this to a tee, well perhaps besides the perfection part. Unlike a lot of her counter-parts, she wasn't afraid to get dirty and if you saw her work room you would noticed that there were all sorts of paints and sketches littered about. Her mother had never understood this side of her, but it was what made Miriel most comfortable. Just because she was messy, didn't mean that she didn't know where everything was, she was particular about some things. Such as her paintings, bills, clothing and books. Those were in order, but not in a way that gave of the sterile feel of perfectly clean. "Ah...Fantasy." These books always amused her, they had such wonderful stories and most of them, believe it or not, were true. Ah well humans, what stupid creatures. With a smile on her face she let her hand rest on one of her favorites, Lord of the Rings.

ISABELLA The vampire strolled into the Library, without a current care in the world. A smile spread across her face as she gazed at all the books. There weren't many people here, just a couple librarians and at the most, three others beside herself. Isabella headed straight towards her favorite section, poetry. She liked it all, from her true love, nature, to romance, and even childish rhymes.
Scanning the titles, her hand landed on her favorite poet. Emily Dickinson. Sure, Walt Whitman and Edgar Allen Poe's poems were superb, but Isabella liked Emily Dickinson's best. Often, she would have to decode them, to figure out what they meant. Isabella pulled the book out of the shelf and held it close to her chest. Next, she headed to the fantasy section. She had ordered a book from another library and was told that it had already been put on the shelf. Idiots, Isabella thought. What if someone took it? She looked through the authors quickly. Byron. Isabella turned her head sideways and read the title, Manfred. So no one had taken it. Next time she ordered a book, she'd be sure that the librarians held it for her.
Just as she was about to leave, she looked to her sidee and saw someone looking through the books. Curious, she walked up behind them, her feet barely making a sound. She looked like an elf, but you could never be sure. For all Isabella knew, she could be a human with pointed ears. Isabella walked up behind her and looked at the title.
"Lord of the Rings, eh? Nice book." Isabella said quietly, standing on her tiptoes and peering over her shoulder.

The book that lay in Miriel's gentle hands was quite a hefty one, after all it was one of those all-in-one books that had the whole trilogy wedged between the front and back covers. But this was they was it was supposed to be. The memory of when the book had first been born and sat on the shelves in England swept into her memory. There had been some fuss about whether the book should be complete or if it should be broken up into a trilogy. J.R.R Tolkien, the author, had fought for it to be all in one, but with money being a problem and the publisher thinking it would make more money if they separated them, it was decided. The book would be split. A sigh came from Miriel's lips, that was long ago and in such troubled times. But here, after it all J.R.R Tolkien had gotten his wish, though only with special edition versions of his book. Tracing the flaming eye in the center of a ring Miriel smiled slightly. Here was a story that was a true classic, before this fantasy really hadn't been that big of a deal, but now, now it was huge. Who knew that one man in England could change the style of writing in such a major way? It was here that the sound of someone elses voice broke through her thoughts.
"Lord of the Rings, eh? Nice book."
Miriel turned slightly. "That...I believe is an understatement." Her voice was full of delight. She studied the girl in front of her with a critical eye. She was beautiful, but not in a human way, she was too perfect. She also was very tall, even a bit taller then Miriel, which was saying something. Raising an eyebrow at the girl she glanced at the book that the girl was holding. "Emily Dickinson, eh? Nice poems." Miriel smiled again and motioned to the fantasy isle. "So what brings you to the this extensive area of Fantasy?"

ISABELLA Isabella looked down at her white dress. It reached just below her knees, flaring out slightly at the end. She played with the straps and smoothed out her dress as she also studied the girl infront of her. No doubt, she was beautiful. Inhumanly beautiful. There wasn't any way she could be a vampire like herself. Perhaps an elf or fairy, or something else she hadn't heard of. Isabella believed it would be impolite of her to ask, at this point at least.
"Hmm. Well I've never really liked Lord of the Rings much. Great writing, though." Isabella shrugged. She had only read the first book. It was probably the size and the thought of having to read them all that got to her. She preferrered poems and shorter books.
"That... I believe is an understatement." Isabella laughed, also using the other girl's words. "Fantasy? Oh yes, this. Manfred." She held up her other book, which had been behind the book of Emily Dickinson's poems. It was actually a dramatic poem, but it was also fantasy. And so it was placed here, oddly.
"I should probably introduce myself. I'm Isabella Grace LaRue. And who are you?" Isabella smiled.

Miriel smiled brightly at the girl before her. "Well at least you have enough guts to say that it is good writing. Most people just say, oh...I didn't understand it." She shook her head. "It's sad how people tend to give up on things and never ask for help. Nonsensical don't you think?"
When the girl reused her very own words Miriel's smile only grew bigger. "Poems are beautiful, well some. They are so expressive. It's almost like seeing into the writers mind. After all who can describe love but through the poets. Though I believe the book you are holding is of a more melancholy nature. " Miriel usually stayed away from the sad books, they made her upset.
"Oh yes, I totally forgot, I'm Miriel. It's nice to meet you Isabella." Miriel's smile turned crooked. "So what brings you over here?" Miriel left out her last name for two reasons, first she didn't like it, and second, even though this girl seemed nice she wasn't sure that she could trust her, after all you can never tell a book by the cover.

Sephera The air whipped Sephera in the face as she threw open the heavy metal-laden doors into the place of all literature--the Bronze City library. She inhaled deeply, taking in the scents of all the books, new and old, feeling her hope renewed that something may be here for her after all. So many varied places to see, so many stories to be heard, so many different people to meet. Ah, the city. A place quite unlike where she was born and raised, and don't get her wrong, she loved the old farm town. There was just a certain... charm about this alternate world. A feeling she couldn't invoke amongst the fields of wheat. Her heels clacked against the tiles as she waltzed further inward, her eyes wide and roaming like a giddy school girl. Her hands were clasped in front of her, swaying back and forth with her movements. The tiny little bells that dangled from her earlobes tingled lightly as she pranced, a smile crossing her lips and brightening her freckled face. With a quiet "hmmm" Sephera glanced around, trying to figure out where to start first. With a pointed finger, she walked swiftly over to her acquired target: romance. It was certainly fun to read about, but absolutely horrifying to actually experience it. Well, to her, anyway. She scanned the walls with her finger, running it across the colorful spines until she spotted something that caught her interest: Love Undead. She flicked open the cover and skimmed the summary, "ooo"ing and "ahhh"ing at the love-horror story of a ghost and a young maid, and how their romance could never flourish since he was damned to living alone forever beyond the grave. "How different.." she muttered excitedly to herself.

ISABELLA Isabella moved the hair that was dangling infront of her eyes with a strong blow. Her hair was always in the way. But she didn't like tying it back, for she argued that it was prettier down.
Isabella grinned. "Ahh, yes. That's me. All guts." She murmured, then paused. "Nonsensical indeed." Isabella agreed, with a small nod.
"It is like seeing into their mind. However, sometimes that shows if a poet is depressed... or insane." Isabella angrily tucked a piece of hair behind her ear. "This book? Hmm, I guess so. They can get quite sad."
Smiling at Miriel, Isabella spoke again. "Ah, nice to meet you too." Then she heard someone making ooh and ahh noises. And it annoyed her. Being a vampire gave you superior senses, including hearing. "They don't have to be so loud." Isabella muttered so quietly that only people with great hearing could hear it.
"I wonder who that is." She commented, a little louder. They were only on the other side of the aisle- which gave her an idea. Isabella walked over to the exact spot where the woman was browsing. She then pulled out three large books, using her "super speed" and stuck her head slightly into the shelf.
"Boo." Isabella said, quite loudly, with a smile. She wasn't really trying to scare her, but make an entrance.

Miriel nodded when Isabella started talking about seeing into their mind. "Yes, it is but I don't think you can only see into their mind if they are depressed or angry, you just might not be able to see as far into their mind." Then when Isabella murmured about people being so loud Miriel let out a slight sigh. "Yes, some people just don't realize how loud they are. But she probably can't help herself, after all this place is quite an exquisite sight."
Miriel didn't answer Isabella, mainly because she didn't know who the person was. But she did watch Isabella with a raised eyebrow, what was she- Miriel stopped her thinking there as Isabella poked her head through the shelf and said, "boo". The long hair that flowed down Miriel's back swayed as she shook her head. That wasn't the best way to have an introduction...Hopefully the girl on the other side wasn't easily frightened. A scream was definitely to loud for a library.

Sephera "WHA-!" she exclaimed, suddenly seeing what looked like a decapitated head poking through the shelf at her. In a flurry of shock, she dropped the book she had been so fascinated by in a twitch and gaped at the girl with wide eyes. With a thud, the not-so-skinny novel planted right on her foot. She winced, trying to hold back any more exclamations, her teeth clenching her bottom lip. Warily Sephera opened one eye, never taking it off of the unexpected visitor, and hesitantly reached down to pick it up. She breathed deeply and evenly, examining her poor toes to make sure they hadn't been bruised in the incident. With a quiet grunt she turned back to the perched head that was still smiling menacingly at poor, unexpecting Sephera. "What were you--!" she began angrily, but bit her tongue and took a deep breath. She closed her eyes for longer than a standard blink, then swallowed before beginning again, her voice monotonous and calm. "That was uncalled for," she managed to say without her voice starting to quiver.

ISABELLA Isabella didn't reply to Miriel. Instead, she watched the woman's reaction, but she found it disappointing. Truthfully, she had wanted a scream. She watched her book fall onto her foot and frowned. Now she hadn't wanted anyone to get hurt. Not now, anyways.
"Mmm, I suppose it was. Sorry about that. Not that I- oh nevermind, I obviously meant it..." She trailed off as her throat began to burn. Isabella could hear the blood pumping through this woman's veins. Her eyes began to turn a blood red. Not wanting to scare the woman any more, she quickly pulled her head off the shelf and looked out the window.
"Oh, look at the time. I really must get going. Thanks for a good conversation, Miriel." Isabella looked at Miriel for a quick second, before turning around and rushing out through the back entrace. Perhaps, by going out this way, she wouldn't have much human contact. She wanted to have time to pick her victim, anyways.
Just as she was exiting the building, she heard, just barely, I librarian calling after her.
"Hey, you're not supposed to.." Isabella left before she could finish. So sorry about that, guys. I hadn't realized it was my turn.

Miriel watched as Isabella disappeared out of the library suddenly. Turning back to the fiery looking girl she smiled slightly. "Sorry about that...I really am." Brushing her hair behind her shoulders with her hand Miriel sighed. "Is...your foot ok?" She didn't know what more to say to this girl. After all the whole situation was very awkward. Glancing back over her shoulder to where Isabella had disappeared she continued. "I'm Miriel, although you probably realized that from what Isabella had said right there." Her crooked grew into a crooked one and she drew her attention back to the girl. "I hope next time we meet it won't be in a likewise manner."
